FRESNO--- The No. 10 ranked team in the NAIA, Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (2-0) defeated the visiting SF State Gators 11-0 behind the pitching of starter, Kellen Schellenberg.  The Sunbird starter, pitching 8 scoreless innings of two-hit ball while striking out eight and walking three. 

Fresno Pacific, who defeated Cal State Stanislaus 11-7 last week, had three three-run innings to key its 11-0 win over the visiting Gators (2-3).  The first three-run inning came in the first with Jared Coleman's two-out two-run double capping the inning for the Sunbirds.  They added three more runs in the third with Travis Morgan's two-out two-run single capping the inning for Fresno Pacific.

The Sunbirds added an insurance run in the fifth and had their last three-run inning in the sixth with Coleman's two-run home run being the big hit for Fresno Pacific.  The hosts added an insurance run in the eighth to increase their lead to 11-0.

Kyle Mastellar (Corning, California, Shasta Junior College) (0-1) took the loss in the start for the Gators, pitching two innings, giving up three runs (one earned) while striking out one and walking one. SF State pitched six other pitchers this evening at FPU Field in Fresno.

SF State's three hits came off the bats of Kevin Dultz (Altadena, California, Glendale Community College), Matt Quintero (San Gabriel, California, University of San Francisco), and Drew Andersen (Gilroy, California, William Penn University) (who also reached on a walk).
