ROHNERT PARK, Calif.---  SF State's women's basketball team won their second straight game on the road by defeating the Sonoma State Seawolves (9-12, 7-9 CCAA), 60-47, this evening in a CCAA game at Seawolf Gym in Rohnert Park.  Donisha Tate (Oakland, California, Las Posita College) recorded her ninth double-double of the season and her eighth in the last nine game by scoring 13 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

“Anytime you get a road sweep against two quality teams such as Humboldt State and Sonoma State, it says a lot on how you are growing in the most important half of the season,” said SF State Head Coach Joaquin Wallace.  “Defensively, we played with passion against a very solid Sonoma State team.”

The Gators jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the first six minutes of the game, but Sonoma State clawed back and took a 10-9 lead on a Elizabeth Day lay-up at the 9:33 mark.  SF State finished the half outscoring its visitors 17-14 to take a 26-24 lead into the locker room.

SF State (10-13, 6-9 CCAA) started the second half on a 19-8 run in the first 13 minutes of the second stanza to take a 45-34 lead.  Kelsey Wagner's jumper with 3:24 to go in the game cut the Gator lead to 51-42, but that was the closest the Seawolves could get as SF State outscored its hosts 9-5 in the final minutes to take the 60-47 victory.

Kelsey Wagner and Nadia Williams paced Sonoma State each with 8 points, who were held to just 28% shooting from the field.  The Gators also forced 20 turnovers by Sonoma State.
