SAN FRANCISCO--- In a day that SF State and Cal State Stanislaus were supposed to play a conference doubleheader, the doubleheader was changed to a single game because of the rain in the Bay Area. The Gators fell 3-2 to the Warriors in game two of this weekend's four-game series to even the series at one apiece.
 
Drew Andersen (Gilroy, California, William Penn University) scored the game's first run when he scored on a sacrifice fly by 
Kevin Dultz (Altadena, California, Glendale Community College)to deep center in the bottom of the first inning. Andersen reached base on a lead-off double to left field. He advanced to third on a single to right field by 
Nick Nyman (Susanville, California, Lassen College)  
 
Nyman drove in 
Ben Mielke (Arcata, California, Shasta College) with a one-out single to right field in the bottom of the third to give the Gators (16-19, 9-13 CCAA) a 2-0 lead. Mielke led off the inning with a single to center field and advanced to second on a sacrifice by Andersen. 
 
The score remained 2-0 Gators until Cal State Stanislaus' sixth inning. David Contreras opened the inning with a single and advanced to second on a one-out single by Andrew Graves. Contreras scored the Warriors' first run on a single to left field by Casey Filkins. Then Vince Hungerford drove in the tying run on a single to field that scored Graves. Still with one out, Thomas Shull walked to load the bases. Filkins then scored on a wild pitch to give Cal State Stanislaus (16-15, 12-10 CCAA) the 3-2 lead.
 
The Gators had a chance to tie the game in their half of the sixth inning as they loaded the bases with two outs, but Eric Cendejas came on and got the final out on a ground out to third base. 
 
SF State had another chance to tie the game in its half of the ninth inning when 
Matt Quintero (San Gabriel, California, University of San Francisco)reached on a two-out error and 
Keith Garcia (Ventura, California, Oxnard College) came into pinch run for him.   Garcia then stole second and was left stranded their as Cendejas got the final out on a ground out to second base.
 
Andrew Stueve (4-2) picked up the win, pitching 5.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and two runs while striking out three and walking two.   Cendejas recorded his second save by pitching 3.1 innings of scoreless relief and striking out three. Corey Conflenti and Andrew Graves each had three hits to lead the Warrior hitting attack. 
 
Ryan DeJesus (Westlake Village) started the game for SF State, giving up two runs and 10 hits while striking out four in 5.1 innings. 
Kyle Mastellar (Corning, California, Shasta Junior College)(3-3) recorded the loss for the Gators, pitching 1.1 innings, giving up two hits and one run, striking out two and walking two.
 
 
Nick Nyman (Susanville, California, Lassen College) finished the day, 2-for-4 for the Gators, who will now travel to Turlock, Calif., for a noon starting doubleheader against the Warriors tomorrow 
afternoon.
