Box Score TURLOCK—In a match, that saw the visiting SF State Gators hold the advantage in shots attempted and corner kicks it was the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors (7-2-2, 5-2-2 CCAA) taking advantage on their attempt to blank their visitors 1-0.
The Gators had a 12-11 advantage in shot attempts including 7-4 in the first half. They also held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. Each team recorded five shot on goals during this afternoon's match at Warrior Stadium in Turlock.
Cal State Stanislaus had three shot on goal attempts in the first ten minutes stopped by the Gators'
Anthony Rodriguez. SF State came right down the pitch in the 11
th minute, but Clint Long stopped
Jairo Magana's attempt to give the Gators the lead.
SF State (1-9-3, 0-7-3 CCAA) had another attempt stopped by Long in the 23
rd minute, this time it was off the foot of
Jason Borges. Then six minutes later,
Hayden Roberts attempt was also stopped by Long to send the match scoreless going into half-time.
The visitors came out strong in the second half as
Edgar Villagrana's attempt in the first minute of the new half sailed wide left. Three minutes later,
Kevin Johnson's attempt was stopped by Long.
Josue Barajas' header in the 52
nd minute went wide left for the Warriors. With 56 minutes on the clock, Rodriguez stopped the Warriors' Nolan Holdridge from giving the hosts the 1-0 lead. Once again, Rodriguez came through for SF State as he stopped the Warriors' Julian O'Dell from giving the hosts the lead in the 69
th minute.
With 30 minutes left on the clock, Kyle Cadigan connected for what proved to be the game-winner off a throw in from Holdridge to give the hosts the 1-0 lead.
SF State had only one shot attempt in the final minutes as
Eric Espinoza's attempt sailed high as the Warriors held on for the 1-0 victory.
The Gators will end their season-long road trip with a 2pm starting match this Sunday, October 14
th at Chico State. The Wildcats defeated Cal Poly Pomona this evening in a CCAA match in Chico, Calif.
