SAN FRANCISCO--- The visiting Cal State Stanislaus Warriors avenged an early season 2-0 loss to the SF State Gators this afternoon with a 2-1 victory at Cox Stadium in San Francisco. Zack Jens connected on a tap from Carlos Gavino in front of the net for the game-winner with 12 minutes left in the match.

SF State (3-10-1, 2-9-1 CCAA) held a 13-11 advantage in shots attempt while the Warriors held a slim 4-3 advantage in shots on goal attempts. Each team recorded six corner kicks.

The first half was a defensive stalemate with neither team recording a shot on goal attempt until the 42:05 mark, when Willie Gomez connected on a shot from 18 yards out after a pass from Josh Handley to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

The Gators' Jared Magaoay had a chance to tie the match with 1:25 left in the half, but his attempt sailed high to send the match into halftime with the Warriors leading 1-0.

SF State came out firing early in the second half. In the first two minutes, Chris Behroozian had his shot attempt blocked and then Clint Long recorded one of his four saves by stopping Hayden Roberts' attempt.

The Gators continued their offensive efforts as Andrew Ogilvy had his attempt stopped by the Warriors' Long.

At the 52:41 mark, Cameron De Jong tied the match on a cross from Cole Diamond for his second goal of the season.

The score remained tied until 11:53 left in the match when Zack Jens connected on the game-winner off a ball from Carlos Gavino to give the guests a 2-1 lead.

SF State had a shot to tie the match at 2-2 with three minutes left, but Long stopped Kevin Johnson's game-tying attempt as the Warriors (5-7-2, 4-7-1 CCAA) held on for the 2-1 victory.

Colt Reichl had three saves in goal for the Gators, who will be back on the road next week for a pair of CCAA matches in Southern California.

The Gators will travel to La Jolla, Calif., for a 7pm starting match this Friday, October 25 at #6 UC San Diego. They will then face Cal Poly Pomona a week from today in Pomona with an 11:30am starting time.
