Box Score ROHNERT PARK, Calif.--- ROHNERT PARK, Calif.--- The SF State Gators' four-game winning streak was snapped this afternoon in a 69-63 conference road game at Sonoma State.
Katie Batlin led the visitors with a game high 14 points and 6 assists. SF State falls to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the CCAA. The Gators will return to the court on Jan. 3, when they travel to Los Angeles, Calif., for a 5:30pm scheduled contest with Cal State L.A.
"Today, we were outplayed in all facets of the game," said SF State head coach
Dr. Joaquin Wallace. "Hats off to Sonoma State for playing an outstanding game." "Road games are a difficult apsect in this conference and we have to learn how to defend and value the basketball."
The Gators are in a five-way tie for second place with Cal State Stanislaus, UC San Diego, Cal State East Bay and Cal State L.A. They are one-game behind first place Cal Poly Pomona, who is 4-0.
The first half went back and forth with their being six ties before the Seawolves took a 38-35 lead heading into the locker room at the half.
Sonoma State (2-6, 1-3 CCAA) took a 43-37 two minutes into the second half. The Gators then went on a 18-6 run capped by a
Kimmie Fung lay-up to take a 55-49 lead with 11:17 left in the game.
Sonoma State came right back and took a 57-55 lead on a Bronte Sheahan lay-up with 8:03 on the clock.
SF State's
Katie Batlin's lay-up with 3:53 left in regulation cut the Seawolf lead to 63-62.
The Seawolves finished the game outscoring the Seawolves 6-1 to take the 69-63 conference victory. With the win, the Seawolves split the season series with their travel partner.
