SAN FRANCISCO--- The SF State Gators will begin their CCAA season this weekend with a four-game series at Cal State L.A. The series will begin with a 2pm starting single game this Fri., Feb. 15 at 2pm, continue with a doubleheader on Sat., Feb. 16 at 11am and conclude with a single game on Sun., Feb. 17 at 11am. The Gators are 3-4 after taking three games from Holy Names University this past weekend at Maloney Field (2-0, 6-4 and 9-8).
The Gators' pitching staff has a team earned run average of 3.60 with
Nolan Sheridan leading the way with a 1.12 ERA. Two other Gators have an ERA below 2.00 in
Ryan DeJesus (1.29) and
Zack Malik (1.64). Those three pitchers also have a combined 30 strikeouts with only 6 walks in 27 innings pitched. Joseph Chedid leads the Gators' hitters with his .429 batting average while
Carter Loud has a team high 10 hits of which three are doubles while
Grady Espinosa has three of the Gators' 10 stolen bases.
Mark Lindsay leads the way with his 7 runs batted in and Loud has scored a team leading four times.
After this weekend, the Gators will return to the diamond for five games next week. SF State will be at the University of San Francisco on Tues., Feb. 19 at 2pm. The Gators will then face Cal St. Monterey Bay in a four-game CCAA series Feb. 22-24.
