Box Score ROHNERT PARK, Calif.— Fresno Pacific's Thiago Novis connected off a missed shot from Renato Bustamante with less than 9 minutes left in the match to give the Sunbirds the 2-1 non-conference victory over the SF State Gators in Day Two of the Seawolf Classic in Rohnert Park, Calif.Â

Sam Merritt tried to put SF State on the board first just two minutes into the match, but his attempt was stopped by Fabian Rangel. Fresno Pacific (1-1) came right down the pitch, but Alvaro Nogales' shot was rejected by SF State's
Colt Reichl.Â

Two minutes,
Andrew Ogilvy had his attempt to give the Gators the 1-0 lead be blocked by the Sunbird defense.Â

Fresno Pacific came right down the field and Jorge Chedraul's attempt was stopped by Reichl, but two seconds later Bustamente gave the Sunbirds the 1-0 lead off a ball from Chris Young at the 12:17 mark of the match.

Bustamente had a chance to double Fresno Pacific's lead, but Reichl recorded one of his season high 7 saves to send the match into the half with a Sunbird 1-0 lead.

Just seven minutes into the second stanza,
Gabriel Flores connected on his first goal as a Gator off a pass from
Juan Sanchez to tie the match at 1-1.

Flores had two chances five minutes later to give the Gators the 2-1 lead, but the Sunbirds' Fabrian Rangel stopped both of the attempts.

SF State (1-1) had another to take the lead sail wide off the foot of Merritt in the 61
st minute. Six minutes later, Fresno Pacific had two chances to give the Sunbirds the lead but Reichl came up big for the Gators.

The score remained tied at 1-1 until the 81:55 mark when Novis connected on a ball from Bustamente for what proved to be the game-winner.Â

The Gators will have their home opener this Friday, September 13 when they host Sonoma State in both team's conference opener. The match is scheduled to start at 12:30pm PDT at Cox Stadium on the campus of SF State.
