Gators Defeat Alumni 2-1

Nolan Sheridan Pitched two innings of scoreless one-hit ball for the Gators
SAN FRANCISCO---  The SF State Gators defeated their Alumni 2-1 this afternoon as Fernando Escobar hit a two-out two-run double in the bottom of the second for the Gators' two runs.  Nolan Sheridan picked up the win for the Gators, pitching two innings of one-hit ball.

"Good day to enjoy with our Alumni, they are a great group to have," said SF State head coach Mike Cummins.  "Today was a good dress rehearsal so to speak, it gives us a good idea of what we still need to work on for Central Washington next week."
"Fernando (Escobar) looked good, with a big double that drove in two runs in the bottom of the second.  Danny Souza had a big hit off the bench that gave us a spark."

The Gators scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the second when Garrett Heisinger was hit by a pitch on a 1-0 count.  Heisinger moved over to second when Will Hein also drew a free pass by way of a hit batsmen.  Fernando Escobar plated both runners with a two out double down the left field line.

SF State will host Central Washington on Saturday, February 1 at 11am in a non-conference doubleheader at The Swamp at Maloney Field.  The Gators will also face the Wildcats on Sunday, February 2 also in a 11am starting non-conference doubleheader.
