The Gators also swept the season series from the Warriors with the winning the first meeting 96-81 in San Francisco in December.
Besides receiving 24 points and 10 rebounds from Batlin, the Gators also received double digit performances from
Angela Van Sickel,
Lauren Varney and
Michelle Sutton. Van Sickel had 16 points, Varney chipped in 12 points and Le added 11 points. Sutton had 12 points off the bench for the Gators.
"We've been in a scoring slump for the past few weeks, for that reason it was great to see us play well," said SF State head coach Dr. Joaquin Wallace. "Our man movement was outstanding and I thought our patience against Stanislaus' relentless ball pressure as we only committed 15 turnovers."
Jasmine Washington had 24 points for the hosts while Lauren Godde added 12 points and 15 rebounds and Ana Burch chipped in 16 points.
The hosts built a 24-18 lead with just four minutes to go in the first half, but the Gators finished the half on a 14-3 run capped by an
Angela Van Sickel three off an assist from
Brittaney Allison to give the guests a 32-27 lead heading into halftime.
Jennifer Le's three gave SF State a 37-31 lead, two minutes into the second half.
The Warriors tied the game at 37-37 on a three by Erin Godde at the 17:10 mark.
The game was once again tied, this time at 44-44, with 14:00 to go with the Gators then going on a 10-4 run in the next two minutes capped by a Sutton lay-up to give SF State a 54-48 lead.
The Warriors would not go away as they cut the lead to 56-55 on a Riley Holladay lay-up at the 10:08 mark, but the Gators increased their lead back to six (65-59) with 7:15 to go in the game.
Cal State Stanislaus outscored its guests 13-7 in the next five minutes to tie the game at 72-72 on a lay-up by Burch.
SF State increased its lead to 79-74 with a little over a minute on the clock.
A three by Washington cut the Gator lead to 81-80 with 25 ticks left, but
Lauren Varney was fouled on the guests' next possession and connected on one of two free throws.
The Warriors had one last chance to win the game, but their three attempt fell short as the Gators held on for the 82-80 road conference win.
"We are taking one game at a time at this point as it is extremely difficult to sweep a team in this conference as was evident tonight----it is going to be equally as challenging tomorrow night against a quality team in Chico State," added Wallace. "Chico State looks as though as they are rounding into shape for the second half."
They will now travel north on CA-99 for their 5:30pm scheduled conference game at Chico State tomorrow evening in Chico, Calif. The Wildcats defeated Sonoma State 79-45 this evening in Chico. The Gators defeated Chico State 82-65 earlier this season in San Francisco.
