@SFState_MSOC To Host Sonoma State this Thursday on Senior Day

SAN FRANCISCO –SF State Gators men's soccer team will host Sonoma State in their final match of the regular season this Thursday, October 30 at 12:30pm.  Prior to the match, the Gators will recognize their six seniors in a ceremony in Nathan Fernandez, Nick Harb, Kevin Johnson, Colt Reichl, Hayden Roberts and Jorge Valadas.
 
SF State comes into this Thursday's match with Sonoma State with a 7-7-3 overall record and a 2-6-2 record in the CCAA after going 1-1-1 last week.  The Gators started their week with a 1-0 win over non-conference foe Hawai'i-Hilo as Sam Merritt scored the golden goal off a ball from James Aguirre in the first overtime.  Then on Friday, SF State lost 2-0 at Chico State.  The Gators tied Cal State San Bernardino 1-1 on Sunday when Merritt scored a goal off a ball from Cory Rodas.
 
Daniel Boyer and Colt Reichl each have shared time in goal. Reichl has a 0.90 goals against average with 12 saves and one shutout.  Boyer has posted 0.96 goals against average with 47 saves and five shutouts. 
 
Sam Merritt leads the Gators with his five goals and four assists for 14 points.  Kevin Johnson has a team leading three game-winning goals. 
 
Coming into this weekend, the Gators are in 10th place in the CCAA.  The top six teams after Thursday will receive a berth in the CCAA Soccer Championships which start this Sunday, November 2.
 
Sonoma State comes into this week's match with the Gators with an 8-7-2 overall record and a 3-5-2 record in the conference.  Brenton Framme leads the Seawolves with six goals and a team high 15 points.  Raspreet Sandhu has a team high six assists.  Sean Taufer has posted a 1.58 goals against average with 63 saves and two shutouts.  The Sonoma State Seawolves are in eighth place in the CCAA.
