SF State enters the contest looking to shed themselves of their six game losing streak. The Gators are currently 0-6 on this young season and 0-2 in the CCAA. However, the team has shown dramatic signs of improvement in their play and look like a team ready to turn heads.
As a team, the Gators are averaging 54.0 points per game and are shooting 34.8 percent from the floor. Their opponents are averaging 75.3 points per game and are shooting 46.5 percent from the floor. Leading the team is senior guard/forward

Last weekend the Gators went 0-2, falling to Humboldt State 73-57 on Friday before hanging tough against Cal State San Bernardino 64-53. The game against the Coyotes was likely the best performance of the season for the Gators. CSUSB entered the game the top-team in the conference and the Gators battled, they rallied down from 11 down at halftime to outscore the Coyotes 30-29 after the intermission. Sutton led the Gators with 14 while fellow senior
Leticia Galarza caught fire in the second half scoring all 12 of her points.
According to SF State's records the Gators are 33-32 all-time against their rivals from the North Bay. The series dates back to the 1977-78 season in which the Gators took the opening contest by a lopsided score of 92-22. The 70 point victory is the largest in the series. The first 10 years of the rivalry was incredibly one sided, the Gators went 18-2 from 1977-87 against the Seawolves, including a 9-0 run to begin the series. The last time these two teams faced each other the Seawolves defeated the Gators 69-63 on Dec. 22, 2013 in the SF State Gymnasium.
Sonoma State is led by head coach Mark Rigby who enters his 18
th year at the helm of Seawolves. Rigby is the winningest coach in SSU women's basketball history boasting a career record of 238-232. The Seawolves enter this weekend with a 1-4 record and are 0-2 in conference play. They have lost three-straight after losing to Cal State San Bernardino and Humboldt State last weekend. As a team, they average 55.8 points per game and are shooting 33.9 percent from the floor. Their opponents are averaging 60.2 points per contest and are shooting 36.7 percent. Junior center Hannah Sourek leads the team with 12.4 points per game, she also leads the team with 5.8 rebounds per game.
