SAN FRANCISCO--- After finishing their non-conference part of their season 5-5 including winning their last three games in a row, the SF State Gators will begin their CCAA season with a four-game home and away series with Cal State Stanislaus. The Gators will travel to Turlock this Friday at 2pm for a single nine-inning game. Then on Saturday, the series will move to San Francisco for an 11am starting doubleheader at Maloney Field. The series will conclude with a noon starting 9-inning game on Sunday.
SF State has won its last three games in a row all in dramatic fashion. The Gators defeated Fresno Pacific 3-2 after scoring three runs in the top of the sixth inning all with two outs. They then swept a doubleheader from Central Washington including winning game two 3-2 in 12 innings when
Wes Carswell hit a two-out single through the left side to drive in
Fernando Escobar with the game-winning run.
Cory Davis picked up the win in the 3-2 win and recorded the two saves in the other come-from-behind victories. He now has an 1-0 record with four saves and a team low 0.00 earned run average.
After this weekend, the Gators will host Cal State San Bernardino in a four-game series at Maloney Field beginning on February 28.
