Gators To Open Up CCAA Season with Home-Away Series with CSU Stanislaus

Gators To Face Warriors in Four-Game CCAA Series
SAN FRANCISCO---  After finishing their non-conference part of their season 5-5 including winning their last three games in a row, the SF State Gators will begin their CCAA season with a four-game home and away series with Cal State Stanislaus.  The Gators will travel to Turlock this Friday at 2pm for a single nine-inning game.  Then on Saturday, the series will move to San Francisco for an 11am starting doubleheader at Maloney Field.  The series will conclude with a noon starting 9-inning game on Sunday.

SF State has won its last three games in a row all in dramatic fashion.  The Gators defeated Fresno Pacific 3-2 after scoring three runs in the top of the sixth inning all with two outs.  They then swept a doubleheader from Central Washington including winning game two 3-2 in 12 innings when Wes Carswell hit a two-out single through the left side to drive in Fernando Escobar with the game-winning run.  Cory Davis picked up the win in the 3-2 win and recorded the two saves in the other come-from-behind victories.  He now has an 1-0 record with four saves and a team low 0.00 earned run average.

After this weekend, the Gators will host Cal State San Bernardino in a four-game series at Maloney Field beginning on February 28.
