SAN FRANCISCO--- The SF State Gators will return to the diamond this weekend for a four-game series at No. 8 Chico State. The series will begin with a night game this Friday, March 28 at 6pm at Nettleton Stadium in Chico, Calif. The series will continue with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 29 at noon. It will conclude with a single nine-inning game on Sunday, March 30 at 11am.
The Gators are currently 12-14 overall and 7-9 in the CCAA after being swept by Sonoma State. They are batting .243 as a team and have a team earned run average of 4.09.
Nick Jackson and
Danny Souza leads the way each batting .333.
Mark Lindsay has a team high 29 hits while
Grady Espinosa has scored a team leading 15 times. Linsay is tied with
Carter Loud for the team lead in RBIs with 13.
Garrett Heisinger,
Dillon Meyer and Loud each lead the Gators with their three doubles and Jackson has stolen a team leading 6 stolen bases.
Cory Davis leads the Gators' pitching staff with his 1.46 earned run average while
Nolan Sheridan has a team leading 24 strikeouts. Sheridan, Davis along with
Taylor Wade,
Jack Veronin and
Ryan Bohnet each have two wins to lead the Gators.
After this weekend, the Gators will continue their season long 8-game road trip with four-games in Southern California against No. 10 Cal Poly Pomona (April 4-6).
