San Francisco – Fresh off a fifth place finish and several impressive performances at the CCAA Championship last weekend in La Jolla, Calif., the SF State track and field team will return to its home track at Cox Stadium for the San Francisco hosted 2014 West Coast Last Chance Open on Saturday.
The Gators will employ a skeleton crew, sending just eight athletes to compete in seven events. Running the 100m and 200m will be
Erica Hayes and
Marina Tucker.
Maya Cabiness, fresh of being named the CCAA Female Track Athlete of the Year will be competing in the 400m hurdles.
Fellow All-CCAA selections
Michelle Chung,
Ashley Black, and
Alex Jones will also be competing. Chung will get another shot to improve on her provisional in the discus, while Black will be competing in the long jump, Jones will get another chance to set a provisional mark in the shot put.
Janesha Anthony,
Brionne Baucham, Cabiness and Black will be running in the 4x100m relay to complete the Gators participation.
