SAN FRANCISCO – After going 2-0 this past weekend, the SF State Gators will begin a four-game road trip this weekend with a pair of games in Southern California. The Gators will face Cal Poly Pomona this Friday, January 9 in Pomona and UC San Diego in La Jolla this Saturday, January 10. Tip-off for both games is scheduled for 7:30pm PST. SF State is currently 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the CCAA, which places them in a tie for second place.
SF State defeated Bay Area rivals Cal State East Bay (70-57) and Cal State Monterey Bay (73-58) this past weekend at the Main Gym at the Don Nasser Family Plaza. The Gators forced 36 turnovers in the two games while recording 23 steals. SF State also out-rebounded its two opponents 31 to 24.
Udun Osakue and
Derrick Brown paced the Gators with their 19.5 and 15.5 scoring averages.
Bren Haley dished out 13 assists in the two games while going a perfect 7-for7 from the charity stripe.
Osakue leads the team with his 13.3 scoring and 4.9 rebounding averages while he is shooting a team best 58% from the field. Brown is second on the team with his 11.6 scoring average. The Gators will first travel to Pomona this Friday for a CCAA game with Cal Poly Pomona. The Broncos are currently 8-3 overall and 4-2 in the CCAA which also places them in a tie for second place. They are averaging 68.4 points per game while giving up 59.4 points per game. Terrence Drisdom leads the team with his 17.0 scoring average followed by Jordan Faison at 14.6 ppg. Drisdom also leads the Broncos with his 6.2 rebounding average, 37% shooting from three's and 81% shooting from the line.
SF State will down travel south to La Jolla for a 7:30pm scheduled tip-off with UC San Diego on Saturday. The Tritons are 5-5 overall and 3-3 in the CCAA, which places them in tie for seventh place with Cal State Monterey Bay. They are averaging 65.4 points per game while giving up 63.4 points per game. Drew Dyer leads the team with his 13.0 scoring average, 49% shooting from three's and 86% shooting from the line. Hunter Walker is next on the team with his 13.1 scoring average.

After this weekend, the Gators will continue their four-game road trip with games at Chico State (January 16) and at Cal State Stanislaus (January 17). They will return home on January 23, when the Gators host Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A. to round out the first half of the CCAA schedule.
