SAN FRANCISCO--  The SF State Gator men's soccer team will finish off their regular season this Saturday, October 31 with a 4:30pm starting conference match at Chico State.  The Gators are coming off a 2-0 weekend in their final two home matches of the regular season as they improved to 7-6-3 overall and 3-5-3 in the CCAA.

SF State is in tenth place in the CCAA with its 12 points, which is four points out of sixth place which Sonoma State currently holds that spot.  The First Round of the CCAA Soccer Championship starts on Tuesday, November 3 at the sites of the higher seeds (No. 3 vs. No. 6 and No. 4 vs. No. 5). The semi-finals and finals are set for November 6 and 8 in Pomona, Calif., on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona.  Cal State Dominguez Hills and Stanislaus State have clinched a spot in the CCAA Soccer Championships and currently hold the top two spots.  Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State L.A., UC San Diego and Sonoma State hold the third through six spots with Cal State Monterey Bay and Chico State still alive for a berth.

The Gators are coming off a 2-0 weekend in their final two home matches of the regular season.  This past Friday, SF State recorded its school record eighth shutout with a 1-0 win over Cal State San Bernardino.  Ashley Watson connected on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute for what proved to be the game-winner.  This was Watson's second goal of the season.

Then on Sunday on Senior Day, SF State defeated No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona 1-0 as Jordan Wusstig connected on the golden goal off a ball from Robert Kelly.  This was Wusstig's first goal in a Gator uniform and Kelly's second assist.  Emmanuel Jimenez had three saves en route to his 6.5 shutout in goal for the Gators.
