SAN FRANCISCO – The SF State Gators will return home this weekend to begin a four-game home stand. The Gators will first host UC San Diego and Cal Poly Pomona this Friday and Saturday, February 13 and 14. Tip-off for both nights is set for 7:30pm PST. This Friday's game with UC San Diego will be "Gold Rush". This game will be broadcast live on Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104 in the Bay Area). The first 500 SF State students will receive t-shirts and pizza. The Gator women will host UC San Diego prior to the men's contest.
The Gators are coming off a 0-2 weekend in which they lost 72-57 to Cal State Monterey Bay and 61-53 to Cal State East Bay both on the road. They are now 8-12 overall and 6-10 in the CCAA, which places them in a three-way tie for eighth place with Cal State L.A. and Cal State Monterey Bay. SF State is still in the hunt for the six-team CCAA Basketball Championships, which are set for March 5-7 at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, Calif. The top six teams in the conference at the end of the regular season will receive bids to the CCAA Basketball Championships.
SF State is averaging 59.4 points and 30.3 rebounds while the Gators are giving up 63.8 points and 29.0 rebounds per game. They are also averaging 8.3 steals per game while forcing their opponents into 14.9 turnovers per game.
Udun Osakue leads the team with his 15.2 scoring and 5.3 rebounding averages along with his 33 steals and 54.7% shooting from the field. Senior guard
Bren Haley leads the team with his 94 assists and 80% shooting from the charity stripe.
UC San Diego comes into Friday's game with the Gators with a 12-8 record and a 10-6 conference record. The Tritons are 12-8 overall and 10-6 in the CCAA, which places them in a tie for fourth place with Cal State San Bernardino. Hunter Walker is one of three players to average double digits with his team high 12.8 scoring average. Drew Dyer is next at 11.9 ppg followed by Adam Klie at 11.7.
Cal Poly Pomona enters this weekend with its 16-5 record including a 12-4 mark in CCAA games. The Broncos are in second place in the CCAA, one game behind Chico State. Terrence Drisdom leads the way with his 16.0 scoring and 6.2 rebounding averages while Jordan Faison is averaging 13.0 points per game.
The Gator Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will also be holding a Canned Food Good Drive. Anyone coming to the game is encouraged to bring a canned food good. At halftime, one lucky Gator student will receive a chance to win a prize if they sink a half-court shot at half-time of both the men and women's game. Any SF State student that brings a canned food good will receive another entry into the half-court shot contest. The women will host UC San Diego with a scheduled tip-off time of 5:35pm.
After this weekend, the Gators will return for two home games on Feb. 20 and 21. On the 21, SF State will host Chico State on Senior Night. Prior to the game with the Wildcats, the Gators will recognize their three seniors in

Udun Osakue.
