SAN FRANCISCO – The SF State women's basketball team returns to the road on Friday when they travel to Art Acker Gymnasium to take on Chico State at 5:30 p.m., they wrap up the weekend looking to avenge an earlier season conference loss to Stanislaus State on Saturday at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena also at 5:30 p.m. Both games will feature live stats and video.
SF State enters Friday's contest with a 4-9 record and is 2-5 in the CCAA. The 2-5 mark has the Gators sitting squarely in ninth place, one game back of eight. The top-eight teams in the CCAA at the end of the regular season will receive a bid to pay in the CCAA Basketball Championship.
Last weekend, SF State went 0-2 at home, falling to No. 25 UC San Diego on Friday before falling to Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday. As a team, SF State is averaging 51.2 points per contest and shooting 31 percent from the field. Defensively, the Gators are one of the nation's best shot blocking teams, averaging 5.7 blocks per contest.

Tatsiana Dashkevich, who are averaging 9.9 and 9.8 points per game respectively.
Washington was named the Female Gator of the Week last week for her performance against the Tritons and Coyotes. She led the Gators averaging 11.0 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per contest. Against the Coyotes on Saturday, she recorded her second career double-double, scoring a game-high 16 points and snatching 13 rebounds.
Kiara Ginwright continues to be the nation's leading shot blocker. The freshman from Riverside, Calif., is averaging 3.8 blocks per contest. Her 49 total blocks is second in the nation. Against the Tritons on Friday she recorded six blocks.
Newcomer
Viktoriia Kotilevskaia had a big weekend, in just her third game of the season, she finished with 11 points against the Coyotes. The native of Mosco, Russia was 4-for-8 from the field and 3-for-5 from 3-point range in 27 minutes off the bench.
Chico State enters Friday's contest with a 5-8 overall record and is currently 1-6 in the CCAA. They have lost three-straight and two of their last 10. At Art Acker Gymnasium the Wildcats are 3-1 with wins over Notre Dame de Namur, Holy Names and Cal State L.A. Last weekend, Chico State went 0-2 on the road, falling to Humboldt State 77-71 and Cal Poly Pomona 65-58.
As a team, the Wildcats are averaging 63.4 points per contest and shooting 40.6 percent from the floor. Defensively, they are allowing 63.2 points per game, while their opponents are shooting 42.2 percent from the field. Two Wildcats average better than 10 points per game, leading the team is Whitney Branham who averages 11.5 points per contest.
The Gators have won two-straight over the Wildcats, taking the earlier match up this year 49-47. All-time the Wildcats own a 70-23 advantage over the Gators, in a series that dates back to Feb. 27, 1971.
Stanislaus State enters this week with an overall record of 10-4, they are 6-2 in the CCAA. They have won four-straight and eight of their last 10. As a team, the Warriors are averaging 65.9 points per game and shooting 38.2 percent from the field. Their opponents are averaging 62.5 points per contest and shooting 36.8 percent from the floor. The Warriors do not have any one scoring in double figures but have eight players scoring better than 5.0 points per game. Leading the team in scoring is Reana Hardin who is averaging 9.5 points per contest.
Saturday's contest marks the 72
nd time these two teams have squared off. All-time the Gators are 32-40 against the Warriors. The last time out, SF State fell to Stanislaus State 61-54 on Dec. 5 at The Swamp.
