SAN FRANCISCO--- The San Francisco State Gators will begin their final week of the 2016 regular season this Monday, October 24 in Santa Cruz for a non-conference match at UC Santa Cruz at noon. The Gators will wrap up their regular season with two home conference matches this Thursday and Saturday, October 27 and 29 against Cal State East Bay and Stanislaus State.
San Francisco State, under the direction of first-year head coach
Javier Ayala-Hil, comes into this week with a 6-6-2 overall record including a 3-5-2 record in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Gators are currently in ninth place in the CCAA with 11 points, five points out of seventh place which is currently is held by Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State San Marcos.
GATORS: San Francisco State is 6-6-2 overall and 3-5-2 in the CCAA, which places them in 9
th place in the CCAA. The Gators are eliminated from the six-team CCAA Soccer Championships which start on November 1 with two First Round matches.
LOOKING FOR FIRST BACK-BACK-BACK WINNING SEASONS: The Gators are looking to record three consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1979-81. Those three season, San Francisco State went 11-4, 11-6 and 11-4-3. The Gators went 7-6-4 last season and 8-7-3 during the 2014 season.
MOST CCAA WINS SINCE 2010: San Francisco State is looking for their CCAA wins since 2010 when they went 6-9-1. If the Gators beat Cal State East Bay and Stanislaus State, it'll be their first non-losing season in the CCAA since joining the league in 1998 as they will finish with a 5-5-2 record.

JIMENEZ IN GOAL: Emmanuel Jimenez has posted a 0.83 goals against average with 49 saves and 4.5 shutouts this season in the 14 matches in goal for the Gators.
GAME-WINNERS: Four Gators have recorded game-winning goals this season with Leon leading the way with four.

CCAA LEADERS; Three Gators are amongst the CCAA statistical leaders in
Richard Leon,
Ranier Plantinos and
Emmanuel Jimenez. Leon is tied for fourth in goals scored, tied for 5
th in points and tied for second in game-winning goals. Jimenez is fifth in goals against aveage and 7
th in saves while Plantinos is tied for 8
th in goals scored.
SENIOR DAY THIS SATURDAY: Prior to their match this Saturday, October 29 at 2pm against Stanislaus State, the Gators will recognize their five seniors in

Emmanuel Jimenez,
Emmanuel Serrano and
Ashley Watson.
FIRST UP ARE THE BANANA SLUGS: The Gators will begin their week on Monday, October 24 with a noon starting non-conference match with the NCAA Division III, UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs in Santa Cruz. The Banana Slugs come into Monday's match with the Gators, with a 3-9-2 record. They are led by Jacob Myers-Norys' five goals and 11 points. Andrew Pimentel has a 2.16 goals against average and Chrsitian Degurman has a 1.33 goals against average in goal for UC Santa Cruz.
NEXT WILL BE THE PIONEERS; The Gators will then face Cal State East Bay this Thursday, October 27 at 3pm, when they host the Pioneers in a CCAA match at Cox Stadium. Cal State East Bay is 6-8-2 overall and 2-6-2 in the CCAA, which places them in 10
th place in the CCAA. Victor Calderon has a team leading 9 points (three goals and team leading three assists0 while Michael Palva has scored a team high four goals. Three Pioneers have shared time in goal this season with Carlos Moreno seeing the majority of the time with a 1.47 goals against average and two shutouts.
FINAL MATCH AGAINST THE WARRIORS: San Francisco State will host the Warriors of Stanislaus State in their its final match of the regular season. The Warriors are 2-10-4 overall and 0-9-1 in the CCAA. They will travel to Seaside on Thursday for a CCAA match with Cal State Monterey Bay before traveling to San Francisco State for a 2pm starting match with San Francisco State this Saturday, October 29. Sean Bender has a team leading 8 points and he is tied with Matthew Waldron each with three goals. Tomas Zajfert has posted a 2.02 goals against average in 14 matches with 45 saves.
