@SFState_WBB Renews Rivalry In New Location

SAN FRANCISCO --  The San Francisco State women's basketball team will be taking on an old rival, in a new location.  The Gators will travel to Kentfield, Calif., to the College of Marin to take on Sonoma State on Friday at 5:30 p.m.  Live stats and video will be available.
 
The Gators (2-7/0-2 CCAA) is 0-3 with road losses at the hands of Western Oregon, Dominican and Fresno Pacific.  As a team, SFSU is shooting 36.4 percent from the field, going 188-for-517, they are averaging 56.9 points per contest.  Their opponents are shooting 40.5 percent from the floor, going 210-for-519 and averaging 63.3 points per game. 
 
The Gators have three players averaging better than 10 points per game.  Leading the team is senior center Donae Moguel, who is scoring 10.6 points per contest.  She also leads the team in rebounding, averaging 6.6 rebounds per game. 
 
The last time out, the Gators fell to visiting Cal Poly Pomona 59-43 in the third annual Purple Out Game.  The next day, SFSU fell to cross bay rival Cal State East Bay 51-48 in a heart breaker.

GAME NOTES
 
Streak Hits Three
The Gators are currently mired in their longest losing streak of the season, which sits a three games.  During that stretch, the Gators are averaging 51 points per game, while giving up 61.  The Gator offense is shooting just 32.1 percent from the floor during this stretch.
 
Road Splits
The Gators have played three true road games this season.  During that stretch, SF State is 0-3.  However, SFSU has better numbers on the road, averaging 60.3 points per game and shooting 38.2 percent from the field. 
 
DaDalt On Fire

Junior forward Kaitlin DaDalt is on fire for SF State.  The transfer from Escalon, Calif., has been named the Female Gator of the Week for the second consecutive week.  For the season, she's averaging 10.2 points per game and is shooting 35.4 percent from the field.  She has recorded four-straight games scoring 10 or more points.  Last weekend, she led the Gators averaging 13.5 points per game.
 
Purple Out A Success Yet Again
When the final numbers were counted, the third annual Purple Out proved to be a huge success.  One thousand fans packed the Main Gym at the Don Nasser Family Plaza, which ties the record set at last season's Purple Out.

Sonoma State enters Friday's contest with an overall record of 4-2, in the CCAA they are 0-1.  They are currently riding a two-game losing streak after falling to Cal State L.A. and Menlo in back-to-back contests.  Friday's game will be SSU's first home game.  As a team, Sonoma State is averaging 75.7 points per game, while shooting 43.8 percent from the field.  Their opponents are averaging 66.5 points per game and are shooting 36.2 percent from the field.
 
Who To Watch
The Seawolves have four players averaging better than 10.0 points per game.  Leading the team is sophomore forward Kim Savio who is averaging 13.2 points per game.  In six games this year, she's shooting 62.3 percent from the field.  Against Menlo on Nov. 29 she scored 24 points, going 9-for-12 form the floor and 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
 
Series Versus the Seawolves

The series against Sonoma State dates back to the 1981-82 season when the Gators defeated SSU 72-52.  All-time the Seawolves own a 41-32 advantage in the series.  Last year, the Gators and Seawolves split the season series with both teams taking the road game.  Last time out, SSU defeated the Gators 50-44 at SF State on Feb. 20.
