SAN FRANCISCO– The SF State Gators will look to continue their winnings as they will take on Cal State East Bay and Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes in four CCAA contest this week. The Gators are 12-12 overall and 6-8 in the CCAA after winning four of their last five games including sweeping Cal State L.A. in a three game series this past weekend.
SF State will host Cal State East Bay this Wednesday, March 30 at 3pm in a part of the make-up of the four-game series from earlier this month. The two teams faced each other in Hayward this past Wednesday as the Pioneers defeated the Gators 7-5 as they rallied from a 4-2 deficit to defeat SF State. Dakota Conners was 2-for-2 scoring two runs and driving in three runs. Angel Lara (1-0) recorded the win in relief for the hosts pitching a scoreless 7
th and Derek Oetken recorded his fifth save by pitching a scoreless ninth.
Six different Gators had one hit apiece with
Bryce Brooks going 1-for-4 with two runs batted in and hitting his first home run of the season.
Dylan Bell (0-1) picked up the loss in relief for SF State.
Dillon Houser recorded the no-decision in the start for the Gators, pitching 6 innings, giving up 5 runs (three earned), striking out one and walking two.
After this Wednesday's game with the Pioneers, SF State will then travel to San Bernardino's Fiscalini Field for a three-game series with Cal State San Bernardino, April 2-3. The series will begin with a doubleheader (two nine-inning games) on Saturday at 11am. The two teams will conclude the series on Sunday with a single game beginning at 11am.
After their game last Wednesday against Cal State East Bay, the Gators faced Cal State L.A. in a three-game series at Maloney Field this past weekend. They started with an 8-7 walk-off win in the bottom of the tenth inning when
Nick Jackson hit a single up the middle with two outs which brought in
Andrew Breen with the game-winning run in game one of Friday's doubleheader.
Joe Chedid was 3-for-3 scoring three times and driving in a run to lead the Gators' hitting attack.
Dalton Pizzuti drove in four runs going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Brent Montgomery (4-0) picked up the win in relief, pitching three innings, giving up three hits, one run, walking one and striking out one.
SF State won the night cap on Friday also in walk-off fashion as Logan Marson drove in Chedid with the game-winning run in the ninth with a single to left center.
Myles Franklin led the Gators' offensive attack going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Bell (1-1) recorded the win in relief, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings.

The Gators picked up the sweep with a 4-3 win on Saturday afternoon as Franklin drove in two of the Gators' four runs with a double in the third.
Peter Reyes (1-0) in his second start of the season, picked up his first win of the season. He pitched 7 innings, giving up five hits and a run, striking out one and walking one.
Nathan Pisciotta recorded his first save by pitching a scoreless ninth and stranded the tying and go-ahead runs on base.
For the season, the Gators are batting .244 as a team and have a 4.13 earned run average. Franklin leads the way with his .344 batting average and .455 on-base percentage. He is tied for the team lead with four doubles with
Joe Chedid and five stolen bases with Jackson and Brooks. Chedid has driven in a team high 13 runs, posted a .team leading .456 slugging percentage and has hit a team leading two home runs. Franklin along with Chedid and
Andrew Breen has the Gators' three triples.
Montgomery leads the team with his 4-0 record, he would lead the team also with his 1.17 earned run average but has only pitched in 15.1 innings.
Ryan Bohnet leads the Gators with his 2.70 earned run average and 22 strikeouts. Reyes has two of the Gators' five saves this season with Moreno, Pisciotta and
Brett Elgin also recording three saves.
In the latest CCAA statistical rankings, the Gators have three players that are in the top five in three categories. Montgomery is tied for fourth with his four wins while Reyes is tied for second with his two saves.
Jake Faulkner has been hit seven times this season which ties him for third.
The Gators will first face Cal State East Bay this Wednesday. The Pioneers are 14-10 overall and 5-8 in the CCAA after going 0-3 against Cal Poly Pomona (5-0, 11-4, 5-4). Cal State East Bay has a team batting average of .307 and a team earned run average of 4.53. Rudy Navarro leads the offensive attack with his .435 batting average, 37 hits, 11 doubles, 22 runs batted in, .565 slugging percentage and .480 on-base percentage. Michael Thomas has stolen a team leading 10 bases and scored a team high 23 times. Donavon Ramirez has posted three of their wins and Alex Vesia has a team low 3.29 earned run average with 35 strikeouts.
SF State will then travel to San Bernardino for a three-game series with Cal State San Bernardino. The Coyotes are 14-15 overall and 9-8 in the CCAA after going 4-2 in their last six games against Chico State and Stanislaus State. They have posted a .248 batting average with a 5.96 earned run average.
Ryan Rich leads the way with his .313 batting average while Daniel Romo has a .475 slugging percentage and team leading .386 on-base percentage. He also leads the team with his 5 doubles and is tied with Andrew Lopez each with two home runs. Brian Lockey has driven in a team high 20 runs and Damio Edwards has scored a team leading 19 runs. Tyler Wells has posted a team high 1.28 earned run average with 56 strikeouts while Don Sullivan has a team high four wins. William Ouellette has recorded four of the Coyotes' 7 saves.
After this weekend, the Gators will return to the diamond on Tuesday, April 5 for a 2pm non-conference game at Sonoma State. They will then host Cal State San Marcos April 9-10 in a CCAA three-game series.
