STOCKTON, Calif. — Three San Francisco State baseball players have been named to the 2017 All-CCAA baseball team. Myles Franklin, Matthew Hernandez, and Jacob Lopez have all garnered honorable mention.
This is the fifth consecutive season that SF State has had at least two players selected to the all-conference team.
Franklin repeated as an honorable mention. The senior outfielder appeared in 30 games and started 26. He hit .327/.376/.355, was fourth on the team with 35 hits, and was a team-high 8-of-10 on the basepaths. He posted 10 multi-hit games, including a four-hit game in a win over Academy of Art.
Hernandez adds CCAA honors to a season in which he was named NCWBA Division II West Region Pitcher of the Week and CCAA Pitcher of the Week honors. The junior pitcher led the team's starters with a 2.21 ERA, which was fourth among regular CCAA starters. The Fort Bragg, California native tallied four quality starts, including a complete game, three-hit shutout at home against Cal State Dominguez Hills. He also struck out eight in that game.
Lopez, who missed last season, returned to form with his second All-CCAA season, having been named to the team in 2015. The senior outfielder was among the Top 10 in the CAA in average, slugging percentage, and hits. The Tracy, California native appeared in 41 games with 40 starts and batted a team-high .366/.440/.517. He led the team with 24 runs, 53 hits, and 75 runs scored; was tied for the team lead with nine doubles and a pair of triples; and was second on the team with 26 runs batted in and 19 walks. He also hit three home runs.
