LA JOLLA, Calif. — Five San Francisco State men's soccer players have garnered 2019 All-CCAA Honorable Mention.
The 2019 Gators finished with a 10-7 record. The Gators notched their sixth consecutive winning seasons and reached the postseason for a third consecutive season, this year securing the No. 6 seed in the CCAA Championships, where they fell 4-2 at No. 3 seed UC San Diego.
The senior midfielder has now earned All-CCAA Honorable Mention twice in his career, as well as CCAA Freshman of the Year honors in 2016. The San Francisco native appeared in 15 matches with 10 starts.
Orozco appeared in all 17 matches for the Gators and started 16 with 1,289 minutes. The senior midfielder led SF State with five goals and added an assist for a team-best 11 points. The Gators co-captain scored a pair of game-winners, versus Stanislaus State and in overtime at No. 9 Cal State San Bernardino.
In his first season with the Gators, Otsuka appeared in 14 matches with 11 starts. The forward logged 942 minutes and netted a pair of goals to go with four assists.
Swinkels has now earned CCAA Honorable Mention in back-to-back seasons. The junior goalkeeper started all 17 contests and has started the Gators' last 40 matches dating back to October 20, 2017. He logged 1,507 minutes in goal and posted a 1.73 goals against average. He made 53 saves and had a .646 save percentage with five shutouts. His three conference shutouts were fourth most in the CCAA.
Tindbaek anchored a Gators defense that allowed 1.53 goals per game. The Denmark native started 13 matches and logged 1,098 minutes.
