SAN FRANCISCO — In an attempt to beat the rain that is coming in across Northern California, the San Francisco State baseball team's home opener versus Concordia (Ore.) was moved up on Friday. Originally scheduled for 2 p.m., first pitch was thrown at 11:33 a.m. but it still wasn't early enough. Play was suspended at in the top of the fourth with the Gators leading 4-3.

A rain delay was called at 12:50 p.m. and play was suspended at 1:05 p.m. Weather permitting, play will be resumed in the fourth inning on Saturday, February 9 at 10 a.m. The three-game series will also be shortened to two games with game two slated to begin shortly after the conclusion of the postponed game.
