CHICO, Calif. — Seniors Jhaina Stephens and Toni Edwards of the San Francisco State women's basketball team have been named to the CCAA All-Conference Team. Stephens was named to the All-CCAA Second Team while Edwards took home Honorable Mention recognition.

Stephens ranks fifth in the CCAA with 14.7 points per game and a 50.7 field goal percentage. The forward has 24 double-digit scoring performances this season as well as 11 double-doubles. This is the second consecutive season the East Palo Alto product has led the team in points, and her 407 points are the most by a Gator since the 2013-14 campaign. Her 786 total points are the 19th-most in program history and 493 rebounds will go down as the 14th most by a Gator. Earlier this season she was named the CCAA Player of the Week, becoming the first SF State honoree since 2014.

"I'm extremely proud and thankful for Jhaina trusting our vision and mission for this program since day one," boasts Head Coach Natasha Smith. "Buying into a we, not me, mentality has brought our team closer, revealed her strong leadership qualities, and has forced everyone in the CCAA to recognize her as one of the best." 

Edwards bounced back after missing last season due to injury by averaging 10.2 points and 4.4 assists per game this year. Her 124 assists are the third-most in the conference this season as well as the most by a Gator since the 2001-02 season. The Fresno native shot a career-high .399 from the field and .708 from the free throw line, which ranks her in the top-15 in the CCAA.

"Toni seemed to become the pulse of our team out of nowhere," continued Smith. "No matter the competition, we always seemed to go as Toni goes, good or bad. For her to be acknowledged as a key player in this conference, after medically redshirting last season, says a lot about her resilience and relentless work ethic as a leader."

The duo helped guide the Gators to their first postseason appearance since 2013, the most conference victories since 2013-14 and most overall wins since 2015-16.
