SAN DIEGO — San Francisco State women's basketball player
Taimane Lesa-Hardee has garnered All-CCAA women's basketball Honorable Mention, as voted on by the league's 13 head coaches.
In the midst of an already emotionally-trying season that saw numerous injuries to her Gators teammates, Lesa-Hardee announced on January 29 that she would honor the late Kobe Bryant by changing from his No. 24 to 21 for the remainder of the season.
Lesa-Hardee improved upon a freshman campaign in which she averaged 9.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. This season, she posted 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. She finished the season on a personal high with a career-high 25 points on February 29 versus Cal State. In a January 2 win over Cal State San Bernardino, she recorded a career-high nine rebounds. In the Gators' second meeting with the Coyotes on February 1, Lesa-Hardee dished out a career-high seven assists. She twice came up with five steals, on December 5 at Cal State LA and on February 8 at Sonoma State.
Her 11.5 points per game were 21st in the conference, her 5.6 rebounds per game were 22nd, and assists were 23rd. Her 1.7 steals per game ranked seventh.
