SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco State Volleyball Head Coach
Matt Hoffman has announced the addition of five student-athletes to the program.
"This is yet another class that we are excited about bringing in," said Hoffman. "We are looking forward to this class making an immediate contribution and impact on the program over their four years here."
A product of Murrieta Valley High School, Brianna DeBoer will provide the Gators with another defensive specialist. A 4.0 student, the Murrieta, California native led her high school team that advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 2 championship match. A two-time varsity letter earner, the 5-foot-8 libero was a CIF Southwestern Second Team All-League selection. A four-year scholar-athlete, DeBoer plans to study Sociology.
Kimberly DeBoer, Brianna's twin sister, was a three-time varsity letter earner and also part of Murrieta Valley's team that advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 2 championship match. The 5-foot-8 setter was most recently named the Press-Enterprise Volleyball Player of the Year, a 2019 Prep Volleyball Andi Collins Award finalist, 2019 Prep Volleyball All-American High School Honorable Mention, CIF Southwestern League MVP, and CIF Southwestern First Team All-League. A four-year scholar-athlete, DeBoer plans to study Kinesiology.
A 5-foot-6 defensive specialist, Kayla Raymundo was a four-year varsity player at Notre Dame High School in her hometown of San Jose, California. She was Honorable Mention her senior and sophomore seasons, and was West Bay Athletic League First Team as a junior. She was also named team MVP her junior and senior seasons. Raymundo is currently undeclared.
A 5-foot-10 setter and opposite hitter, Kaelyn White was a four-year starter at Valencia High School and led the Vikings to two Foothill League championships. The Castaic, California native was a four-time CIF SS All-Foothill League selection, four-time All Santa Clarita Valley honoree, and a two-time captain. White will study Business Marketing.
A six-foot middle blocker, Trinity Yates racked up the honors at Leland High School. A two-time BVAL First Team All-League selection, she was the program's Varsity MVP in 2019 as a senior and the program's Offensive MVP as a junior. The San Jose, California native was a BVAL Honorable Mention as a freshman and a VBAL Second Team All-League selection as a sophomore in 2017. She finished her high school career with 617 kills and 293 blocks, 187 of which were solo blocks. Yates will study Biology.
The Gators are coming off of another successful season, having gone 16-11 en route to back-to-back trips to the postseason. The Gators lose senior AVCA All-America Honorable Mention Bailey Johnson. However, the Gators return starters at nearly every other positions. The offense was second in the conference with a .250 hitting percentage behind National Champion Cal State San Bernardino. The Gators return All-CCAA First Team selection Drew Morris, AVCA All-Region and All-CCAA Second Team honoree Trinity Barr, and All-CCAA Honorable Mentions Jessica Haynie and Payton Jensen. Jensen was second among CCAA setters with 10.24 assists per set.
