LODI, Calif. — The San Francisco State women's cross country raced well in warm conditions and finished seventh out of ninth at the Pacific Collegiate Invitational. The women were just four points behind sixth place Santa Clara and 13 behind Sonoma State.
- Sophomore Katya Candray led the Gators with an 18th place finish with a time of 22:59.5
- Freshman Madeleine Liemhad a strong second collegiate tace and finished right in the top 30 with a 29th place finish with a time of 23:42.9
- Rounding out the Gator's top five finishers were freshman Daisy Salinas (38th, 24:12.7), Senior Stephanie Martinez (45th, 24:33.0) and freshman Olivia Renfro (72nd, 26:00.0)
- Freshman Sydney Seyer, the sixth Gator to compete, finished with a time of 27:29.8.
"These women have been working hard each day and as a group. We did pretty well today," said Head Coach Tom Lyons.
"It was a great course and great competition," said Candray. "I'm proud to be a part of this team. We worked together and pushed through the heat and I have no doubt we'll continue to get better as the season progresses."
