SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State women's cross country team competed in its first race in almost two years when the Gators raced in front of family and friends at the SF State Invitational held at Golden Gate Park. The team finished in 10th place in their first outing of the season. Simon Fraser took the top spot at the Invite.
Sophomore
Katya Candray paced the Gators and clocked in at 23:11.4 for a 34th place finish. Senior
Stephanie Martinez was the second Gator to cross the finish line with a time of 24:05.9. Martinez came in 56th. Freshman
Daisy Salinas (24:35.8), freshman
Madeleine Liem (25:09.0) and freshman
Olivia Renfro (25:41.3) rounded out the top five finishers for the Gators.
The team honored seniors Ana Barbosa, Stephanie Martinez, and Anna Weiner after the meet.
