Dr. Verducci graduated from Lincoln High School in San Francisco, where he played basketball. Upon graduating, he attended San Francisco State and continued basketball, and participated in soccer and track.
He also served as head men's basketball coach in 1965 and 1966. During his brief head coaching duties, his teams went 23-27 (.460) and recorded a pair of second-place finishes in the Far Western Conference. He remained on as the assistant men's basketball coach, notably for the 1968-69 season in which the Golden Gators won the Far Western Conference among a tumultuous campus climate.
After graduating from San Francisco State took him to the United States Air Fore Academy at Colorado Springs. There he spent three and a half years teaching.
He later coached cross country and soccer at Woodside High School.
Verducci passed away in 2025 at the age of 92.
