SAN FRANCISCO --- As the 2012-13 wrestling season winds down, SF State hosts one last home dual and will honor four seniors on Wednesday.
Naveed Bagheri,
Isaiah Jimenez,
Thomas Martin and
Matt Thomas will all be recognized for their contributions to the SF State program before the Gators take on Menlo College at 7 p.m. The Gators will also face National Collegiate Athletic Association Div. I Stanford in a dual on Saturday, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday's competition will feature live stats found at

Gator Notes
SF State dropped a close 22-19 defeat to California Baptist last week, but had three wrestlers place at the 37th Annual California Collegiate Open Saturday. Bagheri and Jimenez each took the top finish in their respective weight classes after boasting undefeated 4-0 records on the day.
Isaiah Hurtado came just short of first place, taking home silver at 133. All three wrestlers also grabbed wins, along with
Conrad Snell, in the loss to CBU on Friday. ... Jimenez, who ranks sixth in the nation at 165, extended his unbeaten streak to 14 matches with the five wins. Fellow ranked teammate, #4 Bagheri, has now won 12 of his last 13 matches, picking up a pin on Saturday in his first match of the day at 2:27. ... Five other Gators pinned their opponents, including
Marc Collier at 125, Hurtado,
Dylan Phillipy and
Conrad Snell, both at 149. ... Bagheri is currently tied for seventh with two other wrestlers in the NCAA Div. II for most technical falls with three so far in 21 minutes.
Oak Notes
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics No. 19-ranked Menlo College also competed in the California Collegiate Open on Satuday with three Oak wrestlers finishing in the top four of their respective weight classes. Eric Lopez took second place in the 165 class, falling 5-4 to SF State's Jimenez in the championship match. He was the only Menlo grappler to face an attached Gator and will most likely see Jimenez again on Wednesday. Scott Brasil took third place in the heavyweight class and Angel Garcia finished fourth at 133. ... Prior to the tournament, Menlo faced NAIA's No. 2-ranked Southern Oregon, dropping 22-17. Garcia, Kyle West (141) and Lopez were the only Oaks to grab victories against the Raiders.
Cardinal Notes
Stanford enters the dual against the Gators with a 5-14 dual record, coming off a 29-7 loss to No. 17-ranked Boise State on Sunday. Evan Silver at 125 and Alex Manley at 133 were the only Cardinals to win matches on the day. ... The Cardinals also sent wrestlers to the California Collegiate Open at SF State, with three placing in the tournament. Freshman Jim Wilson won the title at 174 with an overtime victory to improve to 15-3--his first time wrestling up a level at the 174 class. ... Josh Marchok took a second-place finish at 285 and Peter Galli finished third in the 157 grouping.
