Winston-Salem, N.C. – For the second consecutive year
Tiana Wills finished in the top-3 in the high jump at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships. The senior from Moreno Valley, Calif. placed third in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.79m (5-10.5"). The third place finish was good enough for Wills to be named an All-American.
"Tiana (Wills) looked good over 5' 11.5" but caught her foot on her last attempt," said interim head coach
Tom Lyons. "She was jumping well but that's how the high jump goes some times. She's had a great season with new lifetime bests and placing second at the USA Championship. Now she's a three time All-American as well."
Wills cleared the height of 1.79m (5-10.5") which put her in third place, she attempted to clear 5-11.50" but was not able to get over the bar.
Taking first was Western State's senior Barbara Szabo who cleared 1.88m (6-2"), she defeated fellow teammate Susan Jackson who took the silver by clearing 1.82m (5-11.5").
"I'm glad I got a chance to compete at nationals in Winston-Salem, North Carolina," said Wills who was competing in her final event as a Gator. "I'll be moving forward with my future with track."
