Azusa – The SF State track and field team competed in the first of the two meet the Gators are set to compete in this weekend. On Friday the Gators competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific at Cougar Stadium.
Maya Cabiness highlighted the day finishing seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.93. Also placing in the top-10 in an event was
Ashley Black who finished ninth in the high jump wit, clearing the bar at 1.58m.
In the long jump
Ruth Le Beau placed 13
th with a distance of 5.51m, which puts her eighth all time at SF State.
Hilary King and
Angel Hill placed 22
nd and 25
th respectively, clearing 5.34m and 5.30m.
In the javelin
Jordan Brittner placed 35
th with a throw of 23.86m.
Kareezia Younger also participated in the high jump clearing the bar at 1.53m.
In the throws,
Michelle Chung placed 17
th in the discus with a throw of 41.34m,
Symone Ramirez placed 38
th with a throw of 35.76m.
In the shot,
Alex Jones placed 24
th with a throw of 12.11m, Ramirez placed 38
th with a throw of 10.50m.
In the triple jump
Angel Hill placed 28
th with a distance of 10.54m, Le Beau finished 29
th right behind Hill with a distance of 10.39m.
In the 100m hurdle
Laura Stokes placed 19
th clocking in at 15.18,
Ashley Black finished 25
th with a time of 15:51, behind her was
Jordan Guerrero in 45
th with a time of 17:57.
In the 100 sprints
Janesha Anthony placed 11
th with a time of 12:0,
Hilary King placed 24
th clocking in at 12:48.
In the 4x400 the Gators lineup of
Brionne Baucham,
Ashley Black, Guerrero, and Cabiness placed ninth with a time of 4:01.52.
Baucham placed 26
th in the 200m with a time of 25:39. In the 1500m race
Lindsey Ragas placed 79
th with a time of 5:02.89.
The Gators will return to the track tomorrow when they participate in the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State at Cerritos College.
