Gators Gear up For Three Tough Conference Foes This Week

Kelsie Brennan and the Gators are preparing for three matches this week.

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State women's volleyball team enters another busy stretch with three matches this week, travelling to Sonoma State for a Halloween encounter on Wednesday, followed by two home clashes against Cal State Dominguez Hills (Nov. 2) and Cal State L.A. (Nov. 3) on successive nights. All three contests are slated to begin at 7 p.m.

Prior to Saturday's showdown with CSULA, the Gators will conduct their annual Senior Night festivities, celebrating the accomplishments of this year's class featuring Sammie Battles, Kelsie Brennan, Megan Johnson and Iris Tolenada.

SF State (16-6, 11-4 CCAA) is currently tied for third place in the conference standings with SSU after posting a pair of home wins against Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus last week.

A total of five Gators are among the conference leaders in the ninth CCAA statistical report of the 2012 season. Iris Tolenada owns the top spot in assists (10.71/set) and is second in aces (0.39/set, 33 total), while Jessica Nicerio moved up to first in digs (4.66/set) as well. Elsewhere, Jaclyn Clark occupies the No. 4 position in aces (0.37/set, 29 total), while Kelly Ostello remains fifth in kills (3.52/set). In addition, Meagan Wright finds herself in the sixth spot with a .310 hitting percentage (262-79-590) and ranks eighth in kills (3.16/set).
