Nampa, Idaho – The SF State track and field team had an impressive afternoon on the second day of the Ed Jacoby Invitational and Multi hosted by Boise State at the Jacksons Track Complex on Saturday. Highlighting the afternoon was
Anna Lee McGregor's record setting performance in the 400m.
McGregor placed second overall in the 400m race, finishing with a time of 56.71, breaking the previous school record of 56.81 set by
Maya Cabiness. McGregor followed up her 400m performance with a personal-best in the 200m an hour later, finishing 11
th overall with a time of 25.73.
"Anna Lee ran a provisional mark in the 400m improving 0.83 seconds from last week," said interim head coach
Tom Lyons. "She ran a perfect strategic race from lane 1 getting into 2nd place after the break at 200m and running a very good second half. She followed that up with a lifetime best over 200m an hour later."
Tiana Wills continued her strong season, finishing second in the high jump. "Tiana soared over 1.70m and 1.75m but struggled at 1.80m this week," said Lyons. "It was her third high level competition in as many weekends. Today, she went head to head with Maya Pressley who placed third in the US Championships last summer."
Also competing today was
Ashley Black and
Ruth Le Beau who competed in the long jump. Black followed up her impressive debut in the pentathlon by finishing fifth overall in the high jump, while LeBeau placed 14
th overall.
The Gators will return to action on February 14, when SF State will travel to Seattle, Washington to compete in the Husky Classic, hosted by Washington at the Dempsey Indoor Track facility.
