HAYWARD & STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 1 San Francisco State track & field team wrapped up the Stanford Invitational and the SF State Distance Carnival by setting more provisional marks during the two high-quality meets.
At the Stanford Invitational,
Destiny Mack-Talalemotu placed second in hammer throw with a distance of 56.83m, which she recorded on her first toss and is well above the provisional qualifying threshold.
Alison Sexson notched a personal-best 47.30m in the event.
The 4x400 relay contingent of
Jazmine Smith,
Timarya Baynard,
Bianca Bryant, and
Maya Cook placed third overall behind Division I powerhouses Stanford and Notre Dame. The quartet posted a 3:41.37, another provisional qualifier, and the second-fastest time in the nation and in Gator history.
The 4x100 of
Kennedi Atkins,
Kiana Lambert,
Janelle Bandayrel, and Cook placed fifth with a 46.75, which is another provisional qualifying mark, the seventh-fastest time in the country, and a top-ten mark in program history.
Devanique Brown continued her strong Distance Carnival, placing fourth in the 100m hurdles with a 14.94. Brown returned for the 400m, running a 58.47 for a sixth-place finish.
Helen Birnie won her flight in javelin with a season-best toss of 35.00m, and Brown placed second in Flight 1 with a 31.73m.
Jayden Dalton notched a tenth-place finish overall with a 31.62m.
Bianca Bryant took second overall in the 800m with a 2:09.84, while
Bibiana Enriquez recorded a 2:12.84 and
Myha Castro crossed at 2.13.01.
Cassie Stansberry ran a 2:18.85, and Dalton a 2:31.45. All five Gators in the 800m recorded personal bests in the event.
In the mile,
Jordan Linsky recorded a time of 5:12.59 to take fifth overall in the field of 44 competitors.
